Our Aged Care residences have a homely atmosphere with well appointed lounge rooms, dining rooms and activity centres. As this is the elders' home, they are encouraged to personalise their rooms to suit their individual preferences. Our Aged Care facilities also include pleasant gardens and courtyards for families and elders to walk and sit outside. These communcal spaces in our facilities also offer the opportunity for healthy exercise. Nature can have tremendous soothing powers, and in our Aged Care facilities our elderss can enjoy the nature in a safe and comfortable mannner. Arcare recognises the special needs of people with Alzheimer's disease and other related memory impairments. This means finding ways to involve elders in everyday activities within our Aged Care facility that they enjoy and can feel successful at. At Arcare, we call our dementia care 'sensitive care' because of the specialist care that is required. Our dementia care is held in specially designed surroundings that are both safe and stimulating for the elder and also their carers and family.

Our Aged Care residences provide a comprehensive lifestyle program. Qualified Diversional Therapists provide elders receiving care in our facilities with interesting, satisfying, and therapeutic activities throughout the day. Activities are tailored to suit individual needs, varying by facility depending on the elders' interests, preferences and capabilities. Activities in our Aged Care residences range from outings, entertainment, exercise classes and crafts.

We offer an enjoyable dining experience in all of our Aged Care facilities that encourages independence in a comforting and social atmosphere. Carefully monitored hydration and nutrition programs encourage proper fluid intake for elders and provides a variety of healthy food choices. Families and friends of elders are welcome to join in for meals simply by informing the residence's facility manager beforehand.

Respite is short term care which is provided for those elders still residing in the community who have approval by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS). For a minimum of two weeks, respite in one of our Aged Care residences provides an opportunity for families and carers to have a short break from the routine of daily at-home care.

For admission to one of our Aged Care residences, one of our experienced Admissions Coordinators will assist in making the move into our facilities as smooth as possible. Prior to entry, the elder will need to have been assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) and have a Centrelink Assessment of your financial situation. There is also an Arcare Admissions form to be filled in which helps us to uderstand the elder and tailor the care plan and activities to meet their needs.
