Your dentist will generally recommend a routine checkup and clean every 6 months. In certain cases and for specific reasons, we may sometimes recommend visits every 3 months, or even at 12 months. Many people believe that if they don’t have a toothache, they don’t need to see the dentist. Unfortunately, by the time a tooth starts hurting, the problem is usually quite advanced and difficult to treat. If you have regular checkups and professional cleans, any dental disease that does arise can be intercepted and treated early for a less costly and much less painful outcome.
Dr Georgia Sheahan opened Windsor Dental Clinic in 2009 and led this practice for almost 6 years. She was pleased to welcome Dr Kristine Allen to the team in 2012, and the two have been working together ever since. Both dentists practice all aspects of general dentistry, but also have certain areas of interest. Dr Sheahan has completed courses in orthodontics and has enjoyed adding this aspect of dentistry to her repertoire. Dr Allen has a particular interest in endodontics (root canal treatment) and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest developments in all areas of dentistry.
Recently, an opportunity arose to move the practice to Kedron Park Rd, Wooloowin. The whole Windsor Dental Clinic team has moved across to Wooloowin, hence the name change for the practice. North Brisbane Dental Clinic opened in April 2015, and while we’re enjoying our new digs, it’s business as usual for the whole team.
Dr Georgia Sheahan BDSc (UQ), AMusA

Georgia graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1999. Since then, she has worked in both private and public practice in Brisbane and Northern NSW.
She opened Windsor Dental Clinic in 2009, with a view to creating a friendly, family oriented dental practice that could offer state of the art dental care. Over the years, the practice has grown and now has a loyal following. In 2015, the practice moved to new premises in Wooloowin and rebranded as North Brisbane Dental Clinic. With the help of Dr Kristine Allen and the rest of the team, Georgia hopes to continue to build her practice well into the future.
Georgia has completed continuing education courses in many fields, and has a particular interest in paediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
As well as her dental qualifications, Georgia has attained an Associate Diploma in Classical Piano Performance. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and going to the beach with her husband and two young boys.
Dr Kristine Allen BDSc, MPhil (UQ)

Kristine joined the practice shortly after graduating from the University of Queensland in 2012. Before studying dentistry, Kristine was a dental assistant for many years. During her undergraduate studies she received academic prizes for her high marks in clinical and theoretical components of dentistry. Since graduation she has completed a Masters of Philosophy in the field of Oral Cancer.
Kristine is a very gentle dentist and understands that visiting the dentist can be a nervous time, keeping this in mind she aims to make her patients as comfortable as possible. Kristine is a member of the Australian Dental Association and she keeps up to date with continuing professional development courses. She particularly enjoys attending study group meetings once per month to review updates in dentistry. Kristine also likes to do dental volunteer work, her most recent work was done with the National Dental Foundation in Fortitude Valley with homeless youth.
Outside of dentistry Kristine loves watching the antics her cat and dog get up to, practicing hot yoga and weightlifting.
Dr Nathan El-Atem BDSc (UQ)

Nathan has recently joined the practice, graduating in 2012 from the University of Queensland. He has since returned to UQ, currently studying medicine to further his interest in oral surgery. Nathan has found his continued studies give him further insight into the broader health impact of oral health. He enjoys explaining the ins and outs of dentistry to his patients, making sure they are comfortable and involved with all of their visits. He is always looking for an excuse to get out some models, draw some pictures and answer some questions for a more interactive experience for his patients.
When not in the clinic or studying, Nathan enjoys cycling, gardening and spending rainy days playing video games.
