Marshall has been practicing law for 16 years of which 13 years have been in private practice. He completed his Bachelor of Laws at the Australian National University in Canberra in 1997 and initially served 3 years as a Legal Officer with the Australian Federal Police Legal Branch. Marshall has also served as a Police Officer with the New South Wales Police Service for a period of 7 years, prior to obtaining his degree in law, and this experience has served him well.

During his 13 years in private practice, Marshall has gained a broad outlook on the law, particularly Criminal and Family law, through interaction with Colleagues, Court Staff and Government Agencies. His knowledge and wisdom in these fields come not only from books but life experience itself.
