ABOUT HIPNOTIC Bellydance is an ancient dance form, enduring through the ages and now popular as a form of self expression and exercise for women all over the world. The varied and skilful movements and the evocative and inspiring accompanying music, make Bellydance (known as Orientale dance in Egypt), enormously appealing as an entertainment and a creative pastime. Hipnotic Bellydance provides weekly classes in Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and in 2015 will be expanding to other regions in the Sunshine Coast, having recently concluded 8 years of classes in Brisbane. Tamara also teaches and performs Australia wide and she is committed to representing Belly Dance as an art, working with musicians and other dancers. ABOUT TAMARA Tamara Red Veil Hipnotic Bellydance's owner, Tamara Taylor, is an accomplished performer, choreographer and teacher of Orientale dance. Throughout her 24 year career, Tamara has worked with musicians, performing at festivals, concerts and functions around Australia and is widely respected for her authentic style of dance and understanding and interpretation of music. Tamara and her husband Mike Taylor, direct and produce concerts with The Australian Arabic Orchestra, and Tamara is the AAO's principal dancer and choreographer. Tamara dances and plays riq (arabic tambourine) and frame drum, with various Arabic music ensembles, including Muziz the popular belly dance band she formed in 2005. A respected teacher, Tamara combines her extensive studies with master Orientale dance teachers, her musical talents, and Safe Dance and Pilates certification. Tamara's career highlights include: "El Haneen" 2103 concerts with The Australian Arabic Orchestra 2013 tour with The Bridge Project (appearing on ABC 7.30 Queensland) Solo dance performances with renowned musicians: oud virtuosos Anwar Abudragh and Christos Baltzidis, master percussionist Faisal Zedan, and bands, Xenos, Camoon and Skorba Teaching workshops and performing at major festivals: (Woodford Folk Festival 1995-present), Brisbane festival and numerous belly dance festivals Teaching workshops with renowned musician Omar Faruk Tekbilek in Byron Bay, 2001 Creating and organising the Bahar Bayram Middle Eastern Dance and Music Camp, a 5 day dance and music intensive at Natural Bridge, Queensland.
