Footprint IT was initially conceived in 2004 as a plan to get out of working for Optus. After spending two years working on the overnight “Critical Incident Management Team”, it became obvious to Daemon that there was little to be gained in trying to support clients simply because they spent $10 million a year or more. The whole process of customer service within the Optus space had failed, and the process of moving elsewhere became paramount. Black desktop computer, keyboard, monitor and mouse The customer service issue however remained as the ultimate goal, where the process of providing a customer with a one-stop solution to their IT needs became a reality. Initially, clients were drawn from the local area on the south side of Brisbane but by virtue of word-of-mouth, clients eventually came from as far afield as Camooweal in far north-west Queensland, down as far as Byron Bay in NSW. Many IT companies based in Brisbane offer the process of “no fix no fee”, however we don’t. If we can’t fix it is seriously broken, and we replace it. Our hourly rates are higher than many of the young fellows just out of university, most of whom have no idea how to drive a computer, but at the end of the day an hour with us usually relates fairly closely to 5 hours with one of them. We seriously are better. One of the things many of our customers comment on is that when they ring us up and ask “how much to fix my computer?”, the price we give is usually very close to what eventually becomes the cost. The other point that sets us well apart from the “competition”, is that we know what we are talking about. Our experience covers from Windows 95 through to Windows 8, and we make no apology for the fact that on occasion we will tell you that your computer is not worth repairing. When this happens, we will recommend that you shop around for some pricing and then come back to us for the machine of your dreams.

Our areas of expertise not only include normal home user requirements, but extend to an entire production facility in a plastics manufacturing factory where we are responsible for the management of the entire production computer system. Having been in the business since 1984, in both Australia and Thailand, we believe we have all bases covered. We are able to service the needs of a standalone computer for an 80-year-old on the northern beaches of Brisbane right through to the earlier mentioned plastics factory on the south side.

We can do a complete install and training based on Linux or Windows and we can adapt programs from older Windows versions, to work on new systems. If you would like to try an alternative operating system, we will not only install it for you and set the machine up, we will train you in its use. Imagine using Linux 13, at no cost, instead of Windows that $200 plus just for the operating system. The differences are amazing, but there are challenges. We take you right through the challenges and teach you and your staff how to make an open source operating system work for you. If you have a requirement that cannot be managed by Best Deal 4 You, Australian computer traders or any of the other rubbish lying around the industry currently, then give us a call on 0432 121 833 let’s work out how to make your system work the way you want it.
