Dr Ken Martin Dr Ken MartinOur Principal Dentist, Dr Ken Martin took over an existing practice in Graceville when he and his wife Ruth and their young family moved back to Brisbane from Gympie in 1989. Since then both his family and the practice have grown (though the family has stopped at 5 children and 2 grandchildren so far. The practice growth necessitated our shift in location to a larger building in 2000 to 187 Long Street East, Graceville. Ken is a general dentist who has undertaken an extensive 2 year orthodontic training through Progressive Orthodontics in Sydney, so he can offer orthodontic treatment to both children and adults in the practice. Since then he has completed training in INVISALIGN and offers this treatment to fix orthodontic problems in his adult patients. Ken's other areas of dental interests are in cosmetic dentistry and using implants to help replace missing teeth. He will be attending an intensive weeks' training later this year focusing on surgical implant placement. Outside of dentistry Ken is kept busy with his family, projects at home and his involvement with a social cycling group. Last year he and 5000 other mad cyclists rode the "Victorian Great Ocean Road Race" organised by Cycle Victoria. Dr Debbie Bell Dr Debbie BellDebbie moved to Brisbane from the UK in 2000 with her husband Mark and two daughters. They quickly settled in Brisbane and became Australian citizens in 2006. She started working with Ken at the Graceville Dental Practice in 2003 and has been here ever since on a part time basis. She likes the family atmosphere at the practice and enjoys treating all members of the local community, young and old! She also attends post graduate courses to keep up with the new developments that are happening in dentistry. She particularly likes helping patients that are sometimes anxious about treatment and turning them into happy, relaxed ones. In 2003 Debbie and her family bought and restored a local queenslander property. The young girls that she bought out with her have grown up. Her elder daughter is at university in the UK and her younger one is in her last year at a local school. When she's not working, Debbie likes baking, gardening, yoga and sampling the many restaurants and cafés that Brisbane has to offer. She tries to keep fit but would rather eat cake any day of the week!
