Welcome Mr McGrath to Grace Primary We are excited to welcome our new Principal for 2015, Mr Stephen McGrath, to our school. Stephen comes to Grace Primary after having spent 14 years as Head of Junior School and Deputy Principal of St Andrews Lutheran College, Gold Coast and more recently as Acting Principal in various Lutheran schools including his latest placement Peace Lutheran Primary School, Gatton. Stephen's experience of education and leadership in the Lutheran, Anglican and NSW state education systems stands him in excellent stead to lead Grace Primary into the next phase of our school's development. Martin Fenwick, Chairman - School Council Principal's Welcome Welcome to Grace Lutheran Primary School. As you venture through our website, we hope that you will explore the many and varied opportunities that are available for your child, and be encouraged to follow up this virtual journey with an on-site visit to our Prep – Year 6 campus at Clontarf on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Our students love to welcome visitors and to share the excitement of their learning journey. We work hard to provide a quality educational environment where our families and staff work in close partnership, supporting each other as we Grow in Grace, surrounded by Christ's love and forgiveness, and striving to use our unique gifts and talents to the best of our abilities and for the benefit of others. Grace's aim is to be a school of excellence in all aspects, educating future social and community leaders in all walks of life, by growing positive relationships between home and school and the implementation of effective processes and continual improvement in educational practices and outcomes. There are very strong ties established with our partner schools, Grace Creche and Kindergarten and Grace College, to ensure a seamless transition throughout a child's formal years of schooling. Our modern facilities and attractive grounds, with plenty of room for young bodies to grow and develop, provide a magnificent backdrop to children's learning, which is the key focus of all that we do at Grace. Encouraging each child to be the very best that he/she can be is supported through classroom teachers who work closely with specialist staff in Music, Japanese, HPE, Library, Learning Enrichment and Support, to ensure that every child feels valued and accepted as a child of God and connected to this special community. Our staff are committed to identifying and working with individual needs, facilitating engaging and fulfilling learning opportunities, and to working in close partnership with parents. There is a very strong sense of community and belonging here at Grace Lutheran Primary School, and we aim to lead lives that reflect the words of Micah 6:8, “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly”. I look forward to welcoming you to experience this for yourself. Stephen McGrath, Principal
