Explore the wilderness of two ecological wonders, side by side, Cape Tribulation - Daintree National Park and The Great Barrier Reef from your accommodation in Daintree Deep Forest Lodge. Become part of our rainforest as cassowaries walk past your verandah.
Daintree Deep Forest Lodge is located in North Queensland at Cape Tribulation, 120 km North of Cairns. Here the unique tropical rainforest of Daintree National Park meets the Great Barrier Reef.

Relax and enjoy the superb nature of a wilderness, untouched by civilisation, evolving over eons,  scientists quoting 110millions years as the period of undisturbed evoloution.

Of the 3000 plants found in the area 460 of these are rare and endangered.  They are the living record of the evolution of plants on earth, among them the precursors of flowering plants.

Rainforest and reef meet in the Cape Tribulation Section of Daintree National Park in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. The park protects lush tropical rainforests, rugged mountain and coastal scenery and the traditional lands of the Kuku Yalanji people.

The Cape Tribulation section of Daintree National Park (17 000ha) stretches in a narrow, discontinuous and ragged strip from the Daintree River in the south to the Bloomfield River in the north with the McDowall Range as its western boundary.

The land slopes steeply from the cloud-swept summit of Thornton's Peak to the coast, only a few kilometres inland, with an altitude of 1374m. The Daintree National Park in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area is one of the few places to meet all four criteria for World Heritage listing:

outstanding examples of major stages in earth's evolutionary history
continuing biolgical evolution
exceptional beauty
habitat for threatened species
