About Us — Accredited Practising Dietitians Food • Body • Life is comprised of a team of three fully qualified dietitians, headed by the senior consultant with 20 years of experience. The professional background of this team of dietitians lies primarily in the private sector of nutrition and dietetics, working as Private Practitioners, Lecturers, and as Consultants to Private Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Corporate Groups and Sporting Organisations. Their clinical experience is diverse, drawn from a wide range of conditions encountered while working as private practitioners and also in the clinical setting of private hospitals. These include the dietetic management of patients in the areas of Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, CVA, Renal Disease, Enteral Feeding, Surgery – gastrointestinal, Oncology, Paediatrics, Maternity, Gastroenterology, Allergies and Food Sensitivities, Malnutrition and Eating Disorders. The team has a breadth of experience with Private Hospitals and Nursing homes, where their responsibilities encompassed individual patient management, menu planning and assessment and report compilation for accreditation, staff Inservice education and Quality Assurance Programs. They have a diversity of experience working as lecturers and nutrition educators in the area of Tertiary Education, Health and Stress Management and for Corporate and Sporting Organisations, Primary and Secondary Schools. The team also has experience in the development of educational literature including the creation of healthy recipes, fact sheets, and guidelines for nurses. In addition they have created education material for management of the provision of catering services. Numerous times a year, the team will attend conferences and seminars for up to date information in the area of both nutrition and medical management of dietary related conditions, eg. Diabetes Australia seminars, Coeliac society meetings and Obesity conferences. They meet weekly to discuss recent research in order to keep up to date with the best possible nutrition management strategies for clients and patients.
