What does an eye test involve at
See & Save Optometrists?

Step 1

Firstly we use an Auto Refractor which takes an automatic reading of your distance prescription if you have one.

Step 2

If you are over 35 or have a family history of eye disease, especially Glaucoma, we would take the pressure of your eyes with an instrument that blows a puff of air into them. If the pressure is high, this means the Optometrist needs to investigate further.

Step 3

Instead of using drops to dilate your eyes we use a sophisticated Digital Retinal Camera. This technology takes a photo of the inside of your eye which gives a clear picture of the health of the back of your eyes and also provides a permanent record.

Step 4

Lastly our Optometrist analyses the information collected and conducts further checks to ensure your eyes are healthy and are working comfortably together. Then he will perform a series of tests to determine if any lens correction is needed to help with vision or eye problems you may have.

Further Health Check Consultations

Depending on the findings of your eye test, family history, diabetic or other health conditions our Optometrist may ask you to return for a second consultation, this appointment is also free with your Medicare Card.
