Brisbane's Living Heritage Network aims to raise awareness of heritage and museum sites across the greater Brisbane region and their valuable contribution. We aim to achieve this by producing a guide to sites, online and in printed form, to raise awareness of our rich cultural heritage and encourage locals and visitors to visit our member museums and heritage sites. We are proudly supported by Brisbane City Council. Brisbane's Living Heritage Network acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and their unique relationship with their ancestral country. We pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of Brisbane, and recognise their strength and wisdom.
Brisbane’s Living Heritage Network is a membership-based organisation promoting almost 80 heritage places and museums dedicated to sharing Brisbane’s story.

There are all kinds of stories to be discovered. Find member sites on our Places to Visit web-page or in The Heritage Guide.

You will find our members’ enthusiasm infectious and their knowledge extensive. As a conversation starter, let our members know that we sent you!

Statement of purpose

BLHN is an alliance of organisations actively working for the growth and sustainability of its members and the history and heritage of greater Brisbane.

Vision

Inspiring our residents and visitors to value, enjoy and share our rich heritage and unique stories.

History

Established in 2001, BLHN was formed out of a Brisbane City Council initiative. The initial spark of an idea was to connect Brisbane’s small museums and heritage places within a larger network to help them with promotion and raise awareness of their valuable work. It was decided that this network or alliance would be based on approved membership to BLHN.
