Howden Saggers Lawyers has provided expert legal advice and representation in the areas of both criminal law and family law since 2002. In 2013, we were voted by our peers to be the No 1 Criminal Law Firm in Australia, which is recognition of our commitment to the area of criminal law. We provide a premium service in all types of criminal and family law matters. We have three accredited criminal law specialists in our team, which is more than any other law firm in Queensland. Howden Saggers also has a solicitor who speaks fluent Vietnamese, which is part of our commitment to providing legal representation to a variety of different cultures. All solicitors at Howden Saggers appear in court on a daily basis. We conduct matters in the Magistrates Court, such as traffic, work licences, summary trials and sentence hearings. We also have a wealth of experience in more sophisticated matters in the District and Supreme Courts. In 2012, we were involved in Queensland's longest running murder trial. And more recently, we have acted for a number of company directors being investigated by ASIC. We also conducted a successful appeal in the High Court of Australia, which led to a change of sentencing practice in Queensland. Howden Saggers Partner, Peter Saggers, is currently the Vice President of the Law and Justice Institute of QLD. In this role, Peter is involved in advocating changes in criminal law legislation.
