The Queensland Working Women's Service Inc (QWWS) is funded by the Commonwealth Government Fair Work Ombudsman to provide a free confidential and supportive telephone advisory service for vulnerable women in Queensland about work-related issues such as: pay and conditions, unfair dismissal, discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace bullying.
QWWS provides telephone information and practical advice to targetted to vulnerable  women in relation to work-related issues. If you are at risk of losing your employment or have a concern about your treatment at work then our Industrial Officers can help you to navigate the options available to you.

We may be able to assist with accessing formal complaints processes in relevant commissions, including the Queensland Anti Discrimination Commissions, Fair Work Australia and the Fair Work Ombudsman, and the Australian Human Rights Commission.

Our service is free, and we act as a safety net service for women who are unable to gain assistance from other organisations, (such as a union or a solicitor), who may be in a disadvantaged bargaining position and/or who identify with one of the specified target groups below:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women
Non English speaking background, Migrant or Refugee women
Women with a disability
Rural regional and remote living women
Women with family responsibilities
Women in precarious or low income employment
Young women and older women
Women on 457 Visa's
