Roslyn Dunbar-Wells BA (University of Queensland, Australia); PhD (Music Education, University of Reading, England); LMusA (High Distinction, Sydney Australia) During a lifetime of professional singing, teaching and voice research, Dr Roslyn Dunbar-Wells has helped singers and those wanting to speak or sing with confidence using an effortless, vibrant tone. Voice problems caused by misuse can be corrected, and performers and public speakers who feel they are unable to reach their full potential can learn techniques that set them free to achieve their goal. Apart from singing, tone of voice is crucial when communicating our thoughts and feelings successfully to others, and sometimes a monotonous or unattractive sound detracts from an important message. A job opportunity may be lost because the presentation sounds unappealing. Roslyn has over 4,000 singing and acting performances as a soloist and principal artist in many genres - opera, oratorio, operetta, musical comedy and concerts; stage, radio, TV, and ship-board variety shows on P & O and Chandris Lines around the world. In addition her study with Professor Roland Foster OBE, Elizabeth Todd OAM, Gustav Sacher, Helen Langton and Roy Henderson OBE provided expertise that can be combined with personal experience to help others. Her doctoral thesis identifies, analyses and compares universal classical voice teaching strategies, the causes of dysfunction, restoration practices, and effective communication and teaching procedures and will soon be available to download from this site. For several years, Roslyn has been acknowledged in both the Who''s Who of Australian Women (Crown Content) and the World Who''s Who of Women (Cambridge). The International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England recently awarded her a 21st Century Award for Achievement, in recognition of her outstanding contribution.
